Hello, everyone.

Welcome to my dog fostering website. My name is Ananya Nayak, and I am passionate about providing a safe environment for dogs in need. I am a high school girl who has been fostering dogs for 2 years now. I have always loved animals, especially dogs, and fostering them has been a fulfilling experience for me. Dog fostering is an amazing and fun way to give back to your community. Through this website, I want to share my experiences and encourage others to consider dog fostering as well. Finding out about adopting in 2017

Adopting a puppy in 2018

Before 2017 I thought that the only way to own a dog was by buying it through a breeder, but then my friend told me bout the HSSV, and how we could hep out at the organization.

As I would go to the HSSV after school every other day I would often see that people would fall in love with the animals imeaditly after meeting them. I would often meet puppies that I wanted to keep, but there was one pup that I would not let alone. His name was Scrappy Doo(now Happy), I refused to leave unless my parents would get him home.

First Foster - 2019

After getting Happy I wanted to help out with other puppies who don't have a home, so that is when I began to foster puppies. My first foster was a chihuahua named Simba. Ever since then I have taken very opportunity presented to me for fostering, and now in 2023 I have currently fostered 20 puppies and dogs.

Now that I am older I wanted to help spread awareness to people who have the opportunity and ability to make a change in these young puppies' lives, So I began to do several fundraisers and events to support the puppies and show people how they can make a change.

Fosters

Foster 1

Simba: This is Simba, he is a nine-year-old Chihuahua. Simba was my first ever foster, and I fosters him when I was in 4th grade. He is a kind and sweet dog that loves human affection. Like any dog, his favorite thing would be to nap and get belly rubs. I had Simba for one week, which is a short period of time to have a dog. This is because he had the Kennel cough, which can be easily transmitted to other dogs, and we did not want my dog to catch the cough. According to the American Kennel Club, “ Kennel Cough (also known as canine infectious tracheobronchitis) is a highly contagious respiratory disease” It is very similar to the common cold that a human gets”.

Foster 4

Luke: Luke was a small mixed breed. He was the first and only dog that I fosters who has blue eyes. He is one of the most special dogs that I know because his mother and two of his siblings were on the street. One of his siblings and his mother passed away on the trip to the vet, and his brother nearly survived. He was the only survivor in healthy condition, and Luke got rescued on May the 4th, hence the name ”Luke”. Despite all that he went through, Luke is a friendly dog who would love to take long naps and be held. He did not like to play with toys but loved to run around with my dog. I had Luke for one week because his old foster family went on vacation, so he stayed with us, for his last week of fostering.

Foster 2

Angela: Meet Angela, she is a cream colerd 4-month-old cairn terrier. I foster her along with her sister Bella. Angela would always attempt to make sense of the strange and unseen objects in the world surrounding her. If there is something like an unfamiliar toy, she will quietly take it and begin inspecting the object, until she has familiarized herself with the object. Angela will be engaged in a new environment and meeting strangers. I kept Angela for 1 month and 3 weeks, this is the longest that I have kept a foster. She stayed with us for this long because she had developed an infection. To keep a close watch on her I kept her at home. Another special thing about Angela is that we still know how she is because the family that adopted her contacted us. She is the only foster that we have seen growing up completely.

Foster 5

Panda and Bear: Panda and Bear are 1-year chihuahua mixes. Panda is the tall black and brown girl and Bear is the small fluffy boy that is black and brown. They came together, but we don’t think that they are siblings. They would always be together, yet were the exact opposite. Bear would like to sit peacefully and Panda would love to run in the backyard with me and my dog. If there was a loud noise Panda would be the first to begin barking, and Bear would be the first to hide under anything or go near anyone. I had Panda and bear for 2 weeks because they were ready for adoption almost immediately, the only thing that was stopping them was they needed to take 3 vaccines.

Foster 3

Bella: Bella is a brown-colored 4-month-old cairn terrier. She is the sister of Angella, and ironically she is the exact opposite of Angela. She is a well-behaved little girl and will listen to whatever you say. If there is any loud noise she will go and hide under a piece of furniture or go between any human's legs and have the expectation of being picked up. She would always follow my dog Happy when he went around the house and try to play with him if he was near any toy. I had Bella for 3 weeks because she was in the best condition to be adopted.

Foster 6

Snow and Hazel: Snow and Hazel came together, and I was told that they were siblings. Snow is the little puppy with white fur and Hazel is the girl with brown fur. Snow was a very joyful girl. She would love to play with all the squeaky toys that my dog had on his bed. Hazel was a lap dog, who would not pass the opportunity to get petted. I fosters Snow and Hazel for two weeks, similar to Panda and Bear they neded to receive a couple of vaccines, and were ready to get adopted.

Foster 7

Oscer:

I had the incredible opportunity to foster a dog named Oscar during the time of the fires. Oscar was a true bundle of joy with his wagging tail, playful antics, and boundless enthusiasm. His warm, expressive eyes radiated love and gratitude, reminding me of the resilience and capacity for forgiveness that dogs possess. Despite his past hardships, Oscar had an unwavering spirit and an unwavering desire to love and be loved. Witnessing Oscar's transformation from a timid and unsure dog to a confident and affectionate companion was a heartwarming experience. He taught me the importance of patience, compassion, and second chances. Though our time together was temporary, the impact Oscar made on my life will remain forever. He showed me the true meaning of unconditional love, and I am grateful for every precious moment we shared.

Foster 8

Oreo:My treasured foster Border Collie, Oreo, is a fantastic whirl of action and brains. His black and white fur, which resembles the contrasting colors of an Oreo biscuit, is as recognizable as their jovial nature. His insatiable interest and desire to interact with the world around them are seemingly reflected in Oreo's bright, expressive eyes. He has an innate agility and determination that set him apart, he was one of the most nautist fosters and he would always scare Happy.

Foster 9

Steel: Steel embodies the ideal balance of toughness and tenderness. He has a sleek coat that shimmers like polished steel, and their undeniable warmth counterbalances his feeling of tenacity and strength. Steel has kind-hearted and strong-willed attitude, which is seen in their soulful eyes. He defies stereotypes and emphasizes the extraordinary capacity for compassion that dogs like Steel bring into our lives. Steel's calming presence serves as a constant reminder to me that their love knows no limitations.

Foster 10

Fudge and cofee: Fudge and Cofee are 3-week-old small mix breeds. Coffee is the cream-colored girl and Fudge is the black-and-brown boy. I foster them together because they were siblings. Fudge and Cofee are the youngest foster that I have had. When I first got they would not move and just sleep. After the first hour, she was whining and I did not know what to do, so I picked her up and places them on the pee pad. Turns out they needed to go to the bathroom. This is when my mom realized that they could not even walk, so we went to get milk formula for them. For the next week and a half, we would feed them with a baby bottle, and they would happily drink as much formulated milk as we would give them. Within no time they began to walk and eat on their own. Once they began to walk they would always fight over the same squeaky toy, and who would eat more food. I foster them for three weeks. This is a normal amount of time to foster a dog, including the adoption process

Foster 11

Dora: My beloved foster pet Dora is a joy to be around and has a personality as sunny as a sunbeam. Her presence is filled with warmth and joy, and she wears a coat that appears to have captured the golden tones of morning. Dora's eyes reflect her unquenchable thirst for play and adventure as they sparkle with wonder and vigor. She has a lively energy that she contributes to any situation, whether we are going on new experiences or just cuddling up for a calm evening. Her delicate features belie this.

Foster 12

Nico: Nico, is a ray of joy and company. He brings a beam of brightness into every area he enters with his smooth, golden coat, which appears to radiate warmth. Nico has unbridled passion for life in his eyes, which reflects his irrational curiosity and desire to learn about the world. Every outing is a wonderful adventure because to his robust frame and wagging tail, which demonstrate his love for play and exploration. Beyond his outwardly amusing demeanor, Nico's kind character and unwavering commitment serve as a constant reminder of the amazing capacity that dogs like him have for establishing lasting and profound relationships.
